Don't know what to do

My hysterectomy is scheduled for this coming Monday.

I'm just not sure. About having the surgery right now, I mean. I know I need it and I'm having some mild pain in my right ovary, as usual.

But, I have been sick for over 2 weeks with a bronchitis/sinus infection mixture and I just don't feel well.

When I had all my ovarian procedures done in August 2007, I breezed through the surgery. I went into the surgery with some sinus problems and within a couple days of the surgery, the sinus problems got so much worse. My temp spiked to 102*. At first they thought it was a surgical infection. I was out of my head and thought I would die. I was so sick. I get the worst sinus and ear infections known to man. After allergy testing, it was determined I'm allergic to 33 things!

Now here I am facing surgery again and having more sinus problems. I was even supposed to have sinus surgery a year ago but didn't because I was so traumatized by the sickness I had in 8/07.

I called my DR yesterday to get some antibiotics, but they never called back. There were out of the office today. I called my OB/GYN that's doing my surgery today for the meds, left a message with the nurse; no one ever called back.

All this just adds to the anxiety I have felt since scheduling this surgery.

Hubby has already taken vacation time next week in anticipation of my surgery.

I don't know what to do. I'm not usually someone who doesn't have peace about something...one way or the other, but this time, I have none.

I don't know what to tell you dear.. except Trust in God and your instincts. Sometimes our own insticts are so powerful..You can reschedule a surgery right? Hope you feel better & don't stress!! (I know it's hard not to sometimes)

listen....go with your gut feeling!....instince are usually right!...also, I am surprised that they would do an "elective" surgery while you are sick....my daughter works as a recovery nurse and has had many doctors cancel surgeries due to them being sick and the surgery not a life threatening surgery that couldn't be done later....If you feel that strong about it...don't do it!...I felt that way about having my daughters 5 teeth pulled....when she was 11 the ortho said she had to have them pulled to make room for braces and new teeth...well, that day....I called and said I wasn't coming...I wanted more time...took her to another ortho...and he said he was SO glad I didn't do it...to have lost 5 permanent teeth at age 11 was unnecessary!....so, go with your Gut!!!!
