Primitive Button flowers & 3 visitors

We've had some visitors lately...3 roosters that belong to the neighbor. We always have several of them in our front yard, way up near the road, but these 3 got brave enough to go all the way to our back yard! The closer I got to them to snap their pix the faster they ran! lol

I went to a local craft shop yesterday that takes items on consignment and saw these gorgeous button flower stems! Here's the primitive colored ones:

and then here's the brighter colored ones:

They are only $1 per stem and I bought 5 of the prim ones, but I'd love to have a whole bouquet!

Thrift Store finds!

It seems like forever since I've been able to get out and go junking or shopping for something besides diapers and formula! lol

Today, we finally had a day with sporadic rain instead of downpours, so baby Ry and I drove to Indy and went to a couple Goodwill stores. Here are my finds for the day:

A blue/green Ball jar lamp for $2.99
The Ball inscription doesn't show in the photo.
The glass is wavy with bubbles in it! Just like I like it! lol
It was filled with red candy sweet-tarts which I promptly threw away! lol

Love this! It's in hunter green. Cost me $2.99

Got this black paper towel holder for $2.99.
It's been sanded to show the red paint underneath.

Can't wait to use these fun finds!

Still here

I'm still here...just going through some stuff & haven't felt much like writing.

My hysterectomy is rescheduled for May 18. I'm ready for it so that I can sleep for a week afterwards without any guilt! lol My hubby will be home to take care of our little one.

It has rained day in and day out here. I snapped this pic with my cell phone today. I was so thankful for a glimpse of the sunshine and blue skies!

Bears Mill

My MIL and I went to Greenville OH Saturday for a bridal shower. We happened upon this old mill and I just had to stop and check it out! I took the pix with my cell phone. The mill had closed at 5 PM so we missed it, but a peek inside the window showed a large variety of jams, jellies, milled grains and more. We'll definitely go back!

Bears Mill

There were several walking trails, including one that led to a Vietnam Veteran Memorial. This old bench sits at the head of the trails.

A cool looking birdhouse was underneath!

This path led to an old barn
