Spring Guests

We have so enjoyed our new spring guests! They are staying with us, right off the front porch on top of a rain down spout. They are so fun to watch. They don't have their eyes open yet, but their mouths are never closed!! One baby gets so tired of holding his little mouth open that he rests his wide-open beak on the siding of the house! There are at least 5 babies in the nest.

Sidewalk Progress

We made a lot of progress last night, but this photo was taken several days ago. It's coming along!

Biopsy Results

Fourteen days after the biopsy, my hubby finally was able to get through to our nurse for my test results! The results are: No cancer! Praise the Lord! But as the nurse said, this still doesn't tell us what is going on. The NP at the ER said she thinks it is hormonal bleeding, due to my ovarian disease. My DR had said that originally as well. The way to treat that is with birth control pills. Well, that puts a crimp in things because I can't take b.c. pills because I get bood clots when I take them. SO. Now what?
The Provera worked and I finally stopped bleeding. The pills make me hormonally crazy though and I spend lots of time crying for no particular reason. Awww...ain't it grand being a female?

New sidewalk

I've always loved the wooden sidewalks we have in our state parks around here, so we decided to put one in here at our house. We started it the end of April.

Renfro Valley, KY

While we were in KY in March, we stopped by Renfro Valley. I think we stop there everytime we go down I-75! Anyway, I first went there as a kid and sat in the old barn, listening to good ole country music. My 78 year old friend, Patti, recalls listening to the "Renfro Valley Barn Dance" on the radio as a child. When we stopped this time, we learned it was one hour until showtime and that a favorite bluegrass band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver were performing. We figured we couldn't get tickets but thought we'd try anyway and the cashier asked "Do ya'll want the front row or the 7th?" We took the front row...front and center!! It was AWESOME!!!!! Doyle and the other members made lots of eye contact with us and it was amazing! While we were waiting on the show to start, we walked around and I took these photos of the Renfro Mill and of an "innovative" flower pot!

Doyle is on the left.

Berea, Kentucky

I took this photo in March, outside the restaurant we ate at in Berea. It was so wonderful to go from freezing cold Indiana to Berea, where it was in the 80's and signs of sign were abundant!

Never thought I'd say it!!

I never thought I'd say it, but I was SO happy to go to Wal-mart last night! It is the first time I've been to the store in about 8 days. It was fun getting out! I'm still weak, so hubby took me and he did most of the grocery shopping. I just wondered around as if I hadn't seen the light of day in 5 years! LOL
The meds are working and the bleeding is under control! I have 2 more days of meds to take and after that, I'm wondering if the bleeding will resume? My pharmacist husband thinks it will. We'll see, I guess.

BTW, it's been 12 days since my biopsy and NO word yet. I called today and they marked my message to the RN as urgent and said someone WOULD be calling me back today. Well, here it is, after 8 PM. No word from anyone. Grrrrrrr. I am not nervous about the results, I just want to know what's going on so that we can FIX it!!!!!
